SYP is imported from United States of America. The imported lumber is ready to apply as it planed on all four sides; S4S.
Known for its strength and durability, southern yellow pine (SYP) grows in the southern United States from Virginia to Florida and West to the Piney Woods of Texas.
Builders select SYP lumber for almost every purpose. In residential construction, SYP is used in many structural applications such as joists, rafters, roof trusses, and laminated beams and decorative purposes. Durable and economical, SYP is increasingly being used for industrial applications like pallets and specialty crating to commercial framing for hotels, apartments, college dorms, and senior living facilities.
SYP also readily absorbs preservatives, so it’s a preferred choice for treated wood applications and outdoor living uses like wooden decks, patios, and other outdoor construction.
We import teak from Ivory Coast in Western Africa and also trade in teak from Mizoram, India. We also at times import from Latin American countries like Guatemala, Panama, Ecuador, Costa Rica & Columbia and Other African nations like Ghana, Nigeria, Tanzania, Benin & Sudan.
Teak has always been a prized material and is the Golden Standard in timber. The tree that teak comes from, Tectonagrandis, is native to the tropics. Since around the 7th century, it has been used to outfit and adorn the residences of the wealthy and powerful. Teak has an abundance of natural oils and rubber locked right into the tight grain of the wood. All woods contain oils that protect the tree — think maple sap or tea tree oil. Teak, however, can retain these oils and its rubber even after being felled and processed. Because of this, teak has greater naturally weather-resistant properties than just about any other type of wood.Teak wood tends to be a golden or medium brown. Its color darkens over time.
Teak is known for its incredible durability and water resistance.Teak doesn’t crack, wrap or turn black when in contact with metals and is resistant to termites & other pests. Trees that are older, between 40 and 80 years old, provide the best wood.
Teak is used for boat building, yachts, exterior construction, indoor and outdoor furniture (like benches, chairs, tables, beds, sofas, cabinets & many more), veneer, carvings, beats, joinery and many more. It is also used for indoor flooring, doors & window frames, counter tops and boat decks.
GmelinaArborea also known locally as Gamhar is imported from Western African nations. It is pale yellow to cream-coloured or pinkish-buff when fresh, turning yellowish brown on exposure and is soft to moderately hard, light to moderately heavy and medium course textured wood.
GmelinaArborea timber is reasonably strong for its weight. It is used in construction, furniture, carriages, sports, musical instruments and artificial limbs. Once seasoned, it is a very steady timber and moderately resistant to decay.
Its timber is highly esteemed for door and window panels, joinery and furniture especially for drawers, wardrobes, cupboards, kitchen and camp furniture, and musical instruments because of its lightweight, stability and durability. It is also used for bentwood articles. In boat building it is used for decking and for oars. Gmelinaarborea is a popular timber for picture and slate frames, turnery articles and various types of toys, tea chests, blackboards, frame core and cross bands of flush door shutters.
